BrookGlobal, a thriving company on a trajectory of growth, is actively seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help us move to the next level. We are looking for an accomplished leader who is in alignment with our corporate values, has a strong financial acumen, a strategic mindset, analytical competence, and a unique ability to manage business growing pains. Reporting to the President, the COO will be responsible for all operational aspects of the company, including the oversight of Finance, Operations and HR. It is important that this individual takes the reins in leading our team of high-performing professionals, fostering efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. Past experience in project-based business is preferred.

Objectives of this role

  • Collaborate with the President in setting and driving organizational vision, operations strategy, and business growth.
  • Provide strategic growth recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning.
  • Implement systems and processes to remove roadblocks of growth.
  • Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, and annual operations planning.
  • Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement.
  • Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the President.
  • Manage KPI's and ratios to ensure EBITDA/EV is maximized.
  • Work to develop strong financial budgets and statements.
  • Provide leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team.
  • Analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position.
  • Manage capital investments and expenses to ensure that the company achieves investor targets for growth and profitability.
  • Monitor performance and take corrective measures as required.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.

Required skills and qualifications.

  • Proven experience in managing an entity that operates in both Canada and the U.S., and a good understanding of cross-border rules.
  • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
  • Strong Financial literacy and Ideally a CFO Experience in a Project Base business is mandatory.
