We are looking for an Appraiser to join our Valuation & Advisory team. If you are a detail-oriented professional administrator looking for a fun, hardworking and collaborative team that supports learning and continuous improvement, we want to meet you!

Summary:

The Appraiser for Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson works across the full spectrum of commercial real estate valuation. The Appraiser functions as an independent contractor and has the skills and abilities to fulfill the full scope of practice of an AIC designated appraiser. The Appraiser is involved in data collection, market research, revenue and market analysis, and the creation of detailed cost analysis. The successful Appraiser requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills, along with strong communication and client relations experience. The Appraiser is part of the Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson network, and will work with clients of Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson. The Appraiser will have opportunities to develop new business and manage client relationships. As a contractor, the Appraiser receives support by the corporate office team.

The Appraiser reports directly to the Vice President, Valuation & Advisory Services.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business or Commerce or a related field required.
  • Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) designation status required
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in commercial real estate considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in appraisal tools and resources.
  • Knowledge of local real estate markets and zoning regulations preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively in a rapidly growing/changing environment with a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed property inspections and evaluations to assess market value, condition, and other relevant factors.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of market data, comparable properties, zoning regulations, and other relevant information to determine accurate property valuations.
  • Prepare comprehensive appraisal reports that adhere to industry standards, including detailed descriptions of properties, market analysis, and valuation conclusions.
  • Collaborate with clients, lenders, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information and ensure the accuracy and completeness of appraisal assignments.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with best practices and applicable guidelines.
  • Provide expert guidance and advice to clients regarding property valuation, market trends, and investment opportunities.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain current knowledge and skills in the field of real estate appraisal.
  • Provides mentorship to colleagues as required.
