Position: Lead- Investment Operations

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Lead- Investment Operations for TriCert Investment Counsel is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the activities of our Investment Operations. As a result of ongoing growth, we are seeking a Lead of Investment Operations to perform the following tasks:

  • Operational responsibility for trading, including, but not limited to equities, preferred shares, bonds and mutual funds.
  • Confirm all trades are booked accurately on a daily basis and trade allocations are received preventing the risk of loss and client impact, resolving trade booking issues for clients and ensuring settlement of trades occurs.
  • Contribute to the operational efficiency of the Trading function.
  • Work with PMs to manage trading risk and rebalance of assets held in client portfolios.
  • Lead firm level activities relating to FX, Corporate actions,/Re-orgs, proxy voting, reconciliations, the processing of settlements, market events, and the transactional cycle.
  • Demonstrate a high-level knowledge of regulatory requirements and conduct business in an operationally efficient and low risk manner.
  • Manage and monitor portfolios and insure adherence to investment strategies.
  • Monitor asset allocation guidelines, model drift & dispersion for portfolios.
  • Leverage your knowledge to provide support and guidance on organizational initiatives to improve processes aimed at increasing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Track and share best market practices.
  • Participate in, and advise management on a variety of changes, initiatives and projects.
  • Propose and update appropriate documentation for all processes under your responsibility.
  • Act as an investment operations expert for the organization.
  • Work with organizational leadership in defining best practices for business processes and service delivery.
  • Work with the VP Client Care and Operations in developing strategic objectives for TriCert's Investment Operations.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • University degree – Economics, Science, Finance or Business
  • 2+ years of experience in a trading/analyst role
  • 7+ years of experience in Investment Operations.
  • A deep understanding of Investment Products and of the investment industry
  • A broad-based business experience, supporting and collaborating in the wealth space and delivering services to internal and external clients.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate strong presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex portfolio concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Effectively manage the expectations of a diverse and demanding client base.
  • Exhibit outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management attributes.
  • Display a high level of ownership and accountability.
