POSITION TITLE: Clean Energy Engagement Facilitator

LOCATION SETTING: 2 positions – NCNS Truro Provincial Office and the NCNS Liverpool Regional Office

POSITION SCOPE:

The Clean Energy Engagement Facilitator will work to increase the diversity and inclusionary policies in the energy and efficiency and renewable energy sector in Nova Scotia as well as, increase the knowledge of, and practical experience in, clean energy among the rural, Indigenous communities/organizations in Nova Scotia in partnership with Clean Foundation.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Develop workshops on clean energy for Indigenous communities and the NCNS;
  2. Deliver informative, engaging and culturally relevant education sessions on topics such as renewable energy, green careers and climate change.
  3. Establish and foster relationships with Indigenous communities and members to identify new ways and opportunities to provide educational experiences and resources.
  4. Create and/or support the creation and distribution of clean energy literacy resources and materials;
  5. Ensuring that timely and professional communications are maintained;
  6. Coordinate and deliver community engagement sessions throughout the province;
  7. Attend network events, job fair, etc., to promote and build interest in the clean economy;
  8. Remain current on renewable energy education;
  9. Work effectively and respectfully with subject matter experts, community partners and stakeholders;
  10. Assist with development to develop new educational programs & community engagement sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in community education;
  • Experience working in employment & education and community engagement considered an asset;
  • Experience and interest working within programs that focus on energy efficiency & renewable energy;
  • Comfort and experience presenting in front of groups;
  • Knowledge and experience in educational best practices and facilitation techniques;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Presentations;
  • Team player, willingness to learn, optimistic;
  • Possess a wide scale of creativity;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong written & oral communication;
  • Must be able to complete and pass a criminal background check;
  • Must have a valid Canadian driver's license and have access to reliable transportation.

POSITION AND TERM:

  • Full time (35 hours/week) term until March 31, 2026, Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm and some nights and weekends may be required;
  • Holidays and vacation as per NCNS office policy and procedures;
  • Rate of pay: $24.17/hr - $26.37/hr
