This position is within a highly skilled and fast growing RegTech (Regulatory Technology) team. This team's mandate is: to build and support next generation of applications on platform utilizing the cloud through software-as-a-service. The ideal candidate will be working in an agile environment and will need a passion for continuous improvement. Firsthand experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science and data products will be beneficial.
What You'll Be Doing:

• Work within a cross functional Agile team to deliver regulatory and compliance solutions for a Capital Market business line of the bank
• Provide leadership and participate in the development and delivery of client solutions by estimating, planning, designing, implementing and testing custom software applications
• Determine technology choices and ensure proper software engineering practices are in place
• Exercise creativity and resourcefulness in solving technical problems in a way that maximizes client value
• Perform technology/tool evaluations and software technical proof of concepts
• Conduct IT and industry research to assist delivery management with assessing trends, opportunities and threats
• Assist in recruitment, which includes drawing upon relationships and experience to recommend qualified candidates, interviewing candidates and preparing hiring recommendations
• Maintain the ability to serve as project lead on client engagements

What the Ideal Candidate will have:

• A recognized degree in engineering, computer science, math or related discipline
• Expert experience with at least one programming languages: Java/Scala/Python/Q
• Expert experience with at least one database technology: Oracle, Postgres, kdb, ElasticSearch
• Familiar with big data tools: Spark, Parquet, Dask
• Experience building modern data pipelines to acquire and normalize diverse data source
• Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Passionate about adapting new technologies to accelerate business value delivery
• Ability to work in a demanding environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
