Salary:

At Helcim, we are committed to delivering outstanding experiences to our merchants driven by a mix of core values that combine highly technical abilities to a strong user experience mindset.

To help achieve this ambitious goal, we are seeking a Front-End Development Manager who can see beyond code and work at the intersection of technical excellence and user-centric design. As a key member of our team, you will champion the enhancement of our product experience, collaborate closely with product design and Development teams and ensure seamless and intuitive user interactions.

The ideal candidate will possess proven leadership skills, a deep understanding of front-end technologies, and a passion for continually elevating the overall user experience.

What you will do:

  • Lead a diverse front-end Development team spanning design system, website front-end, and product front-end to deliver exceptional product experience for our merchants, focusing on elevating UX quality across all touchpoints.
  • Consistently adopt a holistic perspective, meticulously considering the system and its ramifications. As an example: prioritize the resolution of front-end flaws at the design system level over project-specific instances. Front-end Developers are expected to seamlessly transition between projects and the design system to address flaws effectively.
  • Optimize and improve front-end implementation through an increasingly performant design system and high-quality, pixel-perfect product UI implementations.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on front-end system architectures and best practices to scale front-end at Helcim
  • Prioritize proactivity over reactivity, continually seeking opportunities to elevate team performance through enhanced processes and initiatives that aim to augment the quality of our product experience
  • Ensure resource mobility and knowledge transfer between all front-end sub domains
  • Act as a mentor and coach to front-end Developers, nurturing their growth and development within the team.

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a front-end Development role, with at least 2 years spent as a lead or a manager of a front-end team
  • Jedi Master level skills combined with lots of love and passion for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a specialization in Vue.js or similar Javascript frameworks.
  • Proficiency in DOM manipulation and implementation of complex front-end interactions.
  • Strong system thinking applied to atomic design systems, UX patterns, design tokens, component libraries, and usability/accessibility guidelines.
  • Experience with front-end system architectures such as module federated or micro front-end architectures.
  • Strong sense of aesthetic and design principles, and familiarity with tools such as Figma, along with expertise in UX patterns.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and mentoring high-performing Development teams.
  • Prioritize team development over IC work to continually grow a strong front-end team of Developers through empathic and supportive leadership and great technical experience.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

A strong portfolio showcasing accessible projects and front-end work is highly desirable.

If you are passionate and highly experienced in growing front-end Development teams, driven by a constant obsession for enhancing user experience interactions, we definitely want to hear from you!
