Helcim is searching for a Data Scientist focusing on accelerating customer acquisition, engagement, and retention through data-driven insights and strategies. you'll play a vital role in driving Helcim's growth initiatives capabilities by leveraging data to optimize merchant acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies.

As a member of the Data & Analytics team you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to the development and deployment of data science and algorithms to dive actionable insights. Your work will directly impact our ability to scale and expand our merchant base while maximizing user satisfaction and retention. What you'll do:

• Analyze user behavior and engagement metrics to identify opportunities for improving merchant acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization.
• Develop predictive models and algorithms to forecast user behavior, segment users, and personalize experiences to drive growth and engagement.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Development teams to design and implement experiments, A/B tests, and optimization strategies to drive key growth metrics.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct ongoing analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of growth initiatives and inform strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize strategic objectives, translating complex business requirements into actionable opportunities for leveraging data science.
• Drive the data science development process to identify opportunities and develop the statistical algorithms, machine learning models, and strategies to optimize merchant acquisition, engagement, and retention.
• Partner with the Data Platform team to ensure data capture, cleanliness, system development and monitoring meet the needs of our merchant growth efforts.
• Collaborate on projects and provide feedback within the Data & Analytics team and cross functionally (Product / DevOps / Dev teams).
• Support the implementation of data governance initiatives.

Who you are:

• 4+ years experience in a data science-related or similar role preferred
• Education may include a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, other related quantitative fields or bootcamps
• Experience with growth analysts in a high-growth company and experience in customer segmentation, cohort analysis, and lifetime value modeling is a plus.
• Experience employing statistical methods or machine learning algorithms to solve business problems
• Experience with the programming languages of our analytics stack (SQL, Python) or other related languages
• Demonstrated ability to engage with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders to understand project objectives, gather requirements, and communicate complex data findings
• Ability to effectively visualize and organize data through dashboards, charts, reports, etc
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, prioritizing iterative technical solutions to solve complex problems.
• Experiences with the following technologies will be assets in this role:
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and and their BigQuery Data Warehouse
  • Metabase or other business intelligence applications
  • Data transformation technologies such as dbt
  • Apache Spark or similar distributed computing platforms
• Experience in consumer or business credit and fraud modeling will be an asset in this role.
