What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a dynamic Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, confident, deadline-oriented and excellence-driven. You're equally comfortable working directly with clients as you are overseeing junior staff. Your attention to detail is second to none, and you're always looking for ways you can improve your clients' finances. When it comes to technology, you're an early-adopter who's passionate about finding a better, faster way to work. This is a permanent, full­-time role, with competitive pay and benefits. Experience working in cloud accounting is a must.

We offer the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis from our office in Vancouver, BC, or remotely if you are located outside of the Vancouver area.

What Your Day Looks Like:

  • Complete file ownership, including regular video calls, emails, and meetings to assist with various back-office functions
  • Review of financial statements
  • Day-to-day bookkeeping including filing returns with CRA, WCB, eTaxBC etc.
  • Managing AR and AP, preparing financial records, payroll, and client invoicing
  • Preparing financial reports, and managing staff expenses
  • Working with clients to understand their back-office needs and be comfortable meeting on site or virtually
  • Reviewing and maintaining records, including data sheets and invoices, both paper and digital
  • Processing and filing documents pertaining to accounts, client contracts, invoicing
  • Reviewing work provided by junior staff, providing constructive feedback
  • Assisting with one-off project work as required

What You Bring:

  • 4+ years of experience in a related position, at least 2 of which you have worked directly with/for non-profit organizations
  • Post­-secondary education from a recognized institution
  • Experience with bookkeeping, AR, AP necessary; full-cycle accounting preferred
  • Proficient in accounting software, such as Xero, Quickbooks, Quickbooks Online
  • Strong computer skills with experience in MS Office Suite and Google Documents
  • Experience overseeing and reviewing the work of junior staff
