You're a born storyteller who can use the countless tools in your communications toolkit to raise CIRA's profile and our efforts to build a trusted internet for Canadians. You are the person people always go to find out what's new online, from the latest product campaign to the trendiest digital technology. You are passionate about creating a strong corporate brand and promoting it both internally and externally to help CIRA succeed. You are dynamic, flexible, and collaborate well with internal and external stakeholders. Most of all, while you understand the value of unplugging once in a while, you are hyped to help Canadians succeed and thrive on the internet.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Product Communications Specialist, you will help drive the content, marketing strategies and stakeholder relations efforts of CIRA and bring your unique perspective and new ideas to the table. Working with our communications team, and the various business units inside CIRA, you will help execute the CIRA communication strategy with a particular focus on product content creation, social curation and stakeholder engagement. You will create compelling materials and stellar strategies that help CIRA achieve its corporate goals. You will dance in your chair when you support a successful product launch and not-so-secretly hope the campaigns you support go viral.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of communications strategies that support corporate goals and activities, with a special focus on CIRA's products including our cybersecurity offerings, Internet Performance Test and more.
  • Provide communications planning and execution to support CIRA's products and services while maintaining close relationships with product marketing counterparts.
  • Create and curate a variety of marketing and communications materials such as web blogs or pages, product briefs, social content and event collateral to engage our community and support our various products.
  • Contribute to CIRA's editorial calendar to ensure a steady flow of corporate content published through CIRA's owned and earned media.
  • Working with the communications team, ensure consistency of tone of voice and compelling product messaging, as well as technical accuracy.
  • Play a key role in the communications team's planning and regular reporting process, using a variety of social and web analytics tools.

What you bring:

  • Completion of a university degree in Business, Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years in a communications role, with experience in content marketing, media relations, communications and social media.
  • Experience in the cybersecurity industry preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in building engaging communities online through content. 
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of web content management systems (knowledge of WordPress is an asset) and mass-mail tools (such as MailChimp). Knowledge of HTML is an asset.
  • Strong storytelling, writing and editing skills. 
  • Ability to create, edit, and publish multimedia content (text, audio, video) with familiarity with the platforms required to do so.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; bilingualism is highly recommended.
