Job Title: Infrastructure Manager Job ID: SL5480432513Location: Winnipeg, MBOverview:Our client's National Infrastructure group is the backbone of the IT solutions and platforms as well as a cornerstone to the reliable and secure operations across all banners of the retail companies. The National Infrastructure Support Team is a highly collaborative group of individuals who possess deep technical expertise and business context to protect and ensure an optimal infrastructure ecosystem. The National Infrastructure Manager's role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the IT infrastructure across all the business entities under the IT Shared Services scope. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems while strengthening the security stand. The Infrastructure Manager will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion. What you will be doing:Strategy & Planning
  • Design and implement short- and long term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements in line with the IT Enterprise Shared Services strategy.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management.
  • Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the IT Senior Leadership team.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
  • Establish service level agreements across the business units under the scope of the company's IT shared services.
  • Prepare/review RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts.
  • Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures
Operational Management
  • Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, etc.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
  • Define hardware and software standards.
  • Oversee network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Test server performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server infrastructure.
  • Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities.
  • Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
  • Direct and administrate a contingent of network analysts and technicians, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action.
What you must have:
  • University degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a combination of education and experience
  • IT certifications in Cisco, Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus.
  • Experience with and advanced understanding of server and storage hardware, operating systems, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure. Email systems, network concepts, systems security, and administrative procedures in a large production environment
  • Experience with, and advanced understanding of Microsoft server OS's, Active Directory and Office365 / Exchange
  • Experience with, and advanced understanding of virtualization environments (VMware, VDI, Horizon, Citrix, XenApp)
  • Strong storage infrastructure and backup management experience (HP, Dell, NetApp, FC Switches, iSCSI, VEEAM)
  • Strong Experience managing cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, etc.);
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Experience building and managing and building Dev, Test, Production and DR environments
  • Experience building and managing end point management and security systems
  • 15+ years of experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence.
  • 10 years successful leadership of an infrastructure team
  • Demonstrated leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to make sound and logical judgments. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating needs assessments, budgets, and so on.
  • Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required.
  • Highly self-motivated and results driven.
  • Strong customer service orientation with high attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Experience with core retail systems is preferred.
