Job Title: Business Process ArchitectJob ID: BP15098581Location: Winnipeg, MBOverview:Reporting to the Director of Business Architecture/Manager BPM and working on one of our client's projects, the Business Process Architect (BPA) is responsible for facilitating process change and recommendations to enable business transformation. Leveraging methodologies and tools from BPM, the BPA supports business process management through the analysis and design of end-to-end business processes and workflows to maximize efficiency, maintain high levels of customer experience, understand and mitigate business risks and issues, and comply with regulatory requirements. The BPA applies a broad and deep understanding of technical concepts in conjunction with an understanding of the company's business to recommend strategy, advance technology and develop innovative solutions. The BPA will leverage business architecture, enterprise architecture and Business Process Management tool, using a systematic approach to optimize all business processes. The BPA, in conjunction with the Business Process Management team, facilitates collaboration and cooperation between business operations, Information Technology, project teams and Business Architecture. The BPA establishes and maintains cross-functional relationships with management and staff to facilitate an agreed understanding of the relationships and interdependencies between key business processes, current and future, focusing on delivery of value (products and services) to customers. The BPA supports process changes by connecting business needs and requirements to solutions, and working strategically to align business processes with functionalities, supporting the success of service delivery models. The BPA recommends approaches or changes to streamline and integrate processes and supports the deployment of technology to enable efficiency and consistency for process execution and governance. What you will be doing:Business Process Management
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with Business Process Management team, Digital and Transformation team, program director and project team, business units (management and frontline staff), Information Technology staff, and external vendors.
  • Leads, engages, and participates in project working groups and committees as required.
  • The company's Process Framework, ensuring standards are applied consistently to process solutions.
  • Develops and maintains process models and frameworks based on industry standards and best practices.
  • Develops and maintains Value Streams to ensure there is a connection/flow among processes.
  • Leads the creation of visual models to describe processes following standards established by the BPM CoE. Ensures that key stakeholders including the Process Owners approve process models.
  • Creates, manages, and audits an inventory of key business processes for the program.
  • Identifies process ownership and flow control, integrating information from multiple sources and stakeholders.
  • Identifies business process issues or risks and takes action to determine root cause.
  • Provides process improvement recommendations to facilitate efficient and streamlined business processes to enhance the overall customer and user experience.
  • Facilitates and provides input on product development and offerings, including product viability.
  • Supports the selection, design, and implementation of technical solutions, based on business case requirements and feasibility.
  • Ensures recommended processes and solutions align with core business capabilities and business architect standards.
  • Contributes to evaluating and establishing operational metrics and KPIs for business areas.
  • Contributes to developing business capability model using Agile, enabling alignment between business owners, product managers, and scrum teams to deliver in an Agile paradigm.
  • Supports change management with business and support teams, including frontline.
  • Support creation of user cases or stories to be applied in testing phases prior to implementation.
  • Works closely with Business architecture teams to clearly understand capabilities and workflows, and uses this information to design future state solutions to meet and maximize customer value add and business needs.
  • Leverages customer input and feedback when recommending improvements and/or addition of new products, services, and process improvements.
  • Ensures BPM Best Practices are used and implemented
Process Design and Improvement Planning
  • Responsible for mapping cross-functional end-to-end business processes and architecture
  • Leads and facilitates Value Stream Mapping workshops, including the onboarding of Area of Focus (AOF) leaders and Process Leaders (frontline staff).
  • Creates and maintains process frameworks and defines key end-to-end value chains focusing on customer value, reducing waste, and increasing efficiencies.
  • Understands platform, system, and application platform capabilities for existing and new vendors, and leverages and maximizes off-the-shelf solutioning versus customization, to achieve customer value.
  • Understands and clearly maps system, platform, application, regulatory requirements, and dependencies, as part of the process mapping exercise.
  • Maintains process documentation and ensure availability to stakeholders, as required.
  • Engages with stakeholders to plan the future state of business processes.
  • Ensures recommended processes adhere to regulatory and legislative requirements.
Process Implementation
  • Provides input into the development of technical solutions to support business process improvements.
  • Works collaboratively to identify and address process integrations and ensure alignment with vendor best practices to maximize service delivery and efficiency.
  • Represents Business Process Management team and facilitates the transfer and sharing of process knowledge to business teams.
  • Assists with training and transition of processes to appropriate process owners.
  • Leads effort to implement and measure the success of process change.
What you must have:
  • Demonstrated business architecture with at least 7 years of experience
  • Technology background supporting process architecture
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • SaFE Designation or equivalent business architecture certification is an asset.
  • Experience documenting and optimizing end to end processes.
