Based in St. Jacobs, Ontario, Huron Digital Pathology is on a mission to transform glass slides into shareable knowledge. Our Scan, Index, and Search solution for pathology combines award-winning TissueScope whole slide scanners with our AI-enabled Lagotto image search engine to connect pathologists, researchers and educators with the vast expertise of their colleagues to improve diagnosis and accelerate disease research.

We're applying unique Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to develop solutions in Digital Pathology that are modernizing healthcare, including detecting cancer and other diseases.

Reporting to the President, the Sales & Business Development Manager will be responsible for the sales of Huron Digital Pathology's products, directly and through our distributors.

You will sell solutions to the global market, qualify accounts, lead demonstrations, and work directly with clinicians and research scientists to offer appropriate Digital Pathology solutions.

This role requires a proactive, independent initiative for successful closing of sales and rapid revenue growth.

You are an ideal candidate if you have experience with capital equipment, preferably medical devices and supporting software.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Lead and build out the sales team to drive revenue and growth
  • Achieve budgeted sales volume and revenue
  • Close sales opportunities by qualifying and nurturing leads
  • Schedule and lead online and onsite demonstrations
  • Prepare quotations and respond to tenders and RFPs
  • Target Hospitals Administrators, Research and Imaging Centres, Pathologists
  • Participate in tradeshows and conferences
  • Build strong customer relationships
  • Report on competitive landscape and direction of market, Develop sales plans
  • Work with internal teams to support our customers
  • Provide reports as a part of Huron's Quality Management System

What you'll bring to this role

  • Hunter type mentality
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent sales experience
  • 5+ years' experience in capital equipment sales within laboratory environment and medical devices
  • 2+ years' experience in Digital Pathology sales, demonstrating products
  • Superior sales abilities – presentation, relationship building, negotiating, and closing
  • Strong understanding of laboratory and clinical operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to prepare quotations and documentation, with attention to details
  • Solid computer skills – MS Office, Hubspot

Bonus if you have

  • Knowledge of pathology, histology, cytology, and laboratory services
  • Experience with Lab Information Systems
  • Experience working with pathologists and pathology departments
  • Ability to travel as needed, including periodic overnights. Travel may be 30% or more and includes international

*Keen interest in travelling as this position has significant travel, up to 30%, mostly to USA & Europe
