We seek a Ceramic Manufacturing Production Technician, reporting to the Production Manager.

This role is based out of our Collingwood location at 20 Stewart Road.

We seek a dedicated and skilled Ceramic Manufacturing Production Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key manufacturing team member, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ceramic parts' production, processing, and finishing. You will contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of our production line, ensuring that our high-quality standards are met and that operations are executed in a timely and accurate manner. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Ceramic Manufacturing Production Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the manufacturing team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the production, processing, and finishing of ceramic parts. You will contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of our production line, ensuring that our high-quality standards are met and that operations are executed in a timely and accurate manner.

Start Date: Immediate

Hours of Work: This is a full-time position working 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Operating and maintaining equipment essential for the manufacturing process, ensuring optimal performance
  • Preparing and loading materials into machines for production cycles
  • Handling and manipulating parts during various stages of the manufacturing process
  • Completing tasks at assigned production workstations and ensuring parts are ready for transition to the next stage
  • Conducting inspections at the workstation to ensure materials meet compliance and quality standards
  • Providing constructive feedback to the Production Manager regarding workstation operations
  • Collaborating with other team members to meet production targets and improve processes
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workstation, adhering to 5S principles
  • Following all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe working environment

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in manufacturing or production would be highly desirable
  • Ability to learn and develop a basic understanding of ceramic materials
  • Ability to follow instructions and apply lessons learned in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical stamina: ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in ceramic production, is highly desirable
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn the operations of various equipment across different production steps
  • Strong manual dexterity for the manipulation of parts, requiring the use of arms, hands, and fingers
  • The organizational skills required to maintain an orderly workstation
  • A professional and courteous demeanour, and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • A high level of concentration and detail orientation
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work area, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols
  • Basic computer skills
  • Candidates must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada under relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
