We are seeking Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineers to support the design, implementation, automation, security, monitoring, and ongoing operations of AWS cloud environments supporting complex healthcare technology solutions.
This is a hands-on senior role requiring strong expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, Linux/Unix administration, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, automation, cloud security, monitoring, production support, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, configure, and maintain AWS cloud environments and production systems.
- Deploy and automate applications, infrastructure, packages, and operational processes.
- Ensure cloud environments meet requirements for availability, performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
- Configure and manage AWS services including; Amazon VPC, AWS Firewall, IAM, EC2, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, Aurora, Redshift, Elastic Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, CloudTrail, CloudWatch
- Work with additional AWS services including Amazon Connect, Pinpoint, DynamoDB, Kinesis Data Streams, and Polly.
- Administer Linux/Unix environments, particularly Red Hat, including installation, troubleshooting, hardening, and automation.
- Design, deploy, and support microservices, distributed applications, Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized environments.
- Implement cloud security controls covering identity, networking, encryption, data protection, and access management.
- Monitor production environments, review logs, troubleshoot incidents, tune application performance, and proactively identify improvements.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation.
- Design and maintain monitoring, logging, metrics, alerting, and operational automation solutions.
- Develop system architecture documentation, technical specifications, integration plans, configuration documentation, and implementation plans.
- Support API development, integration, and distributed system interfaces.
- Evaluate new technologies and vendor products and provide recommendations for architecture, automation, security, and process improvements.
- Provide technical leadership and collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders.
- 10+ years of IT experience, with significant senior-level DevOps/Cloud Engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience creating, managing, and maintaining AWS cloud-based production environments.
- Extensive experience with AWS deployment, automation, administration, troubleshooting, performance, security, and scalability.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services, including:VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, Aurora, Redshift, Elastic Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, AWS Firewall
- Experience with Amazon Connect, Pinpoint, DynamoDB, Kinesis Data Streams, and Polly.
- Proven experience implementing cloud security models, particularly identity, network security, encryption, and access controls.
- 5+ years of experience with Unix/Linux operating systems, including Red Hat, with expertise in installation, troubleshooting, hardening, and scripting.
- 3+ years of experience administering Kubernetes and Docker/container environments.
- Strong scripting experience using Python, Bash, JavaScript/Node.js, PHP, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience with Git, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or comparable automation/configuration tools.
- Experience with GitLab or similar DevOps platforms and CI/CD integration.
- Strong experience troubleshooting and tuning production environments to improve application performance.
- Experience designing and maintaining monitoring, logging, metrics, and alerting solutions.
- Experience building and consuming APIs and supporting system integrations.
- Experience applying web, architectural, security, and industry best practices.
- Strong technical documentation and system design experience.
- Experience with microservices and distributed application architectures.
- Experience evaluating technology alternatives and recommending improvements.
- 5+ years of experience working with federal, provincial, or broader public-sector healthcare organizations.
- Experience with public-sector health-related IT projects.
- Knowledge of public-sector enterprise architecture artifacts, processes, and practices.
- Experience producing technical documentation aligned with industry standards.
- Knowledge of public-sector IT project approval processes, governance, and methodologies.
- Experience with large, complex healthcare IT projects.
- Familiarity with public-sector enterprise architecture, gating processes, and standard systems development methodologies.
- Knowledge of industry-standard project management methodologies, including PMI.
- Salesforce and MuleSoft API integration.
- JIRA, Confluence, Maven, Jenkins, or similar development/DevOps tools.
- Mobile device management for cellular devices and tablets.
- Enterprise architecture and large-scale healthcare IT environments.
- Evaluation of new cloud technologies and vendor solutions.
- Proven technical leadership and ability to identify and recommend areas for improvement.

This is a 100% onsite position in Toronto. Candidates must be available to work onsite 5 days per week at 5700 Yonge Street.
