The Enhancing HCC Digital Connectivity program is executing a multi-year strategy to modernize the Home and Community Care digital ecosystem, reduce dependency on the CHRIS platform, and establish the technical foundations for a future-state home care platform. Current program plans require the rationalization of existing CHRIS functionality and the progressive decomposition of the platform's monolithic architecture into modular, interoperable services that can integrate with next-generation digital solutions.

To support this transformation, the Agency requires the procurement of 3 Sr. Systems Testing QA Specialists to provide specialized expertise in test automation, quality engineering, and delivery enablement across CHRIS, HPG, and related modernization initiatives. These resources will design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and regression suites, enabling faster and more reliable validation of new services, integrations, and application enhancements. Their expertise will help accelerate delivery timelines, improve software quality, reduce manual testing effort, and support the ongoing transition from tightly coupled legacy components to reusable, service-based architectures.

Current program plans require the rationalization of existing Client Health and Related Information System (CHRIS) functionality and the progressive decomposition of the platform's monolithic architecture into modular, interoperable services that can integrate with next-generation digital solutions. To support this transformation, the Agency requires the procurement of three Sr. Systems Testing Quality Assurance Specialists to provide specialized expertise in test automation, and delivery enablement across CHRIS, HPG, and related modernization initiatives. These resources will design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and regression suites, enabling faster and more reliable validation of new services, integrations, and application enhancements. Their expertise will help accelerate delivery timelines, improve software quality, reduce manual testing effort, and support the ongoing transition from tightly coupled legacy components to reusable, service-based architectures.

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for CHRIS and HPG initiatives.

Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and regression test suites using Playwright.

Perform functional, integration, system, end-to-end, and regression testing.

Validate application functionality, interfaces, APIs, and data integrity across multiple integrated healthcare systems.

Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective testing solutions.

Identify, document, track, and validate defects through resolution using Azure DevOps.

Support release management activities, deployment validation and smoke testing.

Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Provide testing metrics, status reporting, documentation, and knowledge transfer throughout the engagement.

Required Skills:

Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance and software testing.

Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing test automation solutions.

Demonstrated hands-on expertise with Playwright for UI and end-to-end test automation.

Experience using Azure DevOps for test management, defect tracking, and release support.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Skills:

Experience supporting healthcare, public sector, or regulated environments.

Previous experience working with healthcare information systems.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.

Experience testing cloud-based and Azure-hosted applications.

Rated Criteria:

QA testing experience, including test planning, execution, defect management, and Agile delivery methodologies 25 Points

Hands-on Playwright automation experience, including framework design, automated regression testing, and maintainability of test assets. 35 Points

Experience testing enterprise web applications, APIs and integrations. 25 Points

Communication skills, stakeholder engagement, healthcare/public sector experience, and overall fit for CHRIS/HPG initiatives.15 Points

Total: 100 Points

Deliverables

Development, maintenance, and execution of Playwright-based automated test suites supporting CHRIS and HPG releases.

Comprehensive test plans, test cases, test execution results, defect reports, and quality assurance documentation.

Execution of functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing for application enhancements and releases.

Knowledge transfer, documentation, testing artifacts, and recommendations for continuous improvement of QA processes and automation practices.

The resource will comply with the Agency's policies and procedures.

The resource will be issued an Agency laptop and is expected to provide at least one additional monitor, an external keyboard and a mouse at their own expense. In addition, when the resource is working from their home location they must have a private office space and are not permitted to work in an open communal space. Internet connection must be hard-wired and suitable bandwidth to support the IT requirements of this role. If these conditions cannot be met within their home office space, the resource will transition to full time in office, and the hybrid option will no longer be available.

The Agency systems cannot be accessed from outside the province of Ontario, and Agency assets including laptops and related equipment cannot be removed from the province of Ontario, without prior written approval from the Agency.

Assignment Type: This position is currently listed as "Hybrid". The resource under this request will be required to work onsite as per Hiring Manager sole discretion.
