We are currently seeking an experienced Mainline Sewer & Water Foreman to join our team in Ontario, Canada. This position is open to unionized or non-unionized candidates, depending on experience and project requirements.

The Mainline Sewer & Water Foreman will oversee and coordinate crews responsible for the installation of underground sewer and water infrastructure on municipal and civil construction projects. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership in the field, ensure safety compliance, and maintain productivity while delivering high-quality work and meeting or exceeding project production targets.

Functions of the role:

  • Supervise and lead sewer and water installation crews on active construction sites
  • Coordinate daily work activities, materials, equipment, and manpower
  • Ensure crews meet or exceed daily and project production targets while maintaining quality standards
  • Motivate team members and promote a positive, productive work environment
  • Train, mentor, and support crew members to improve skills, safety awareness, and performance
  • Read, interpret, and fully understand site drawings, grades, and project specifications
  • Maintain quality control for pipe installation, bedding, and backfilling operations
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario safety regulations (OHSA) and company safety policies
  • Work collaboratively with other foremen, superintendents, project managers, front-line team members, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution
  • Communicate effectively with inspectors, clients, and project leadership
  • Track daily production, site conditions, and project progress

Skills and experience that we value in this role are:

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in sewer and watermain construction
  • Previous foreman or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of underground utilities, trenching, and excavation practices
  • Ability to read and fully understand engineering drawings and grades
  • Valid Ontario driver's license (G class)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working on municipal infrastructure projects is considered an asset

Physical Demands

This position requires working in active outdoor construction environments and performing tasks that require physical endurance and mobility. The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind
  • Walk, stand, and move on uneven terrain for extended periods of time
  • Climb in and out of trenches, excavations, and construction equipment safely
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to approximately 50 lbs when required
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently throughout the workday
  • Enter and exit construction zones, trenches, and excavation areas as required
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety boots, high-visibility clothing, gloves, and other protective gear
  • Maintain situational awareness around heavy equipment and active construction operations
  • Work extended hours when required to meet project schedules and production targets

Travel:

Ability to travel within Southwestern Ontario as required to visit jobsites.
