Saw Operator

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare material for fabrication of signage in accordance with work order requirements, ensuring maximum material yield.
• Operate metal fabrication equipment, including standard saws, radio arm saws, shear, notcher, and roller.
• Review work orders and determine extrusion and material requirements.
• Perform daily maintenance start-up checks.
• Operate metal fabrication equipment in accordance with safe work procedures.
• Plan and prepare material required for job completion, ensuring optimization of material yields.
• Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded.
• Set up, assemble, and track welded parts.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment at all times.
• Cooperate with the Joint Health and Safety Committee and adhere to all plant safety rules and policies.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment when on the plant floor.
• Assist with training of new and existing employees.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must have good math skills.
• Ability to demonstrate effective listening and verbal skills.
• Good work ethic.
• Ability to read and use measurements and read blueprints.
• Experience working with hand and power tools.
• Team-oriented with an ability to work with others in a multi-cultural environment.
