PACE is a non-profit community support service organization that provides support services to adults with disabilities who are committed to living independent lives. PACE provides support services to more than 350 individuals who have a variety of disabilities. We operate 8 supportive housing sites where people live independently along with a Community Outreach Program that provides support services in people's homes. PACE has been accredited with Accreditation Canada, since 2010. PACE achieved the highest rating of Accredited with Exemplary Standing in our last survey in May 2022.

Position Overview
The Information Systems and Solutions Specialist is responsible for incorporating relevant trends and technologies into practice, managing any assigned resources and third-party vendors, and working with stakeholders to understand business needs and how technology can support them. This role involves designing new systems and processes or modifying existing ones to enhance performance and efficiency, identifying any processes that can be streamlined using technology, and providing project management support for IT/IM-related initiatives. Additionally, the specialist leads and coordinates cross-functional project teams to support digital transformation initiatives and system improvements, communicates the IT strategy across the organization, and oversees the implementation and optimization of software systems performed by third-party vendors.
What you will do:
Solution Development & Integration (40%)
- Incorporates into practice relevant trends and technologies, improvement and strategic opportunities, enterprise risks and required mitigation.
- Manages any assigned resources and third-party vendor management, with a focus on the advancement and management of IT/IM environment within the organization.
- Works with stakeholders to understand business needs and how technology can support them.
- Actively engages end users and co-design solutions.
- Assess current IT/IM systems and identify areas for improvement or automation.
- Designs new systems or modifications to existing systems to enhance performance and efficiency to meet business needs.
- Identifies any processes that can be streamlined using technology and implement process improvement tools such as dashboards, reporting systems, and workflow automation.
- Provides project management support for IT/IM-related projects from planning through implementation, including defining scope, timelines, budgets, success criteria and required change management, communication and training required for effective transition to the new.
- Leads and coordinates cross-functional project teams to support digital transformation initiatives and system improvements.
- Communicates the IT strategy and direction across the organization through a change management lens.
- Leads end-user support and training efforts to ensure staff are proficient in using current technology systems.
- Oversees the implementation and optimization of software systems across the organization.
- Identifies and addresses gaps in system security, performance, or compliance.
Systems Integration (30%)
- Works with third-party vendors as a technical bridge between internal cross functional teams and external vendors to IT services and operations, infrastructure, applications, and assets that align with corporate strategics.
- Monitors and maintains IT/IM performance metrics and quality management standards.
- Troubleshoots and resolves system issues or escalates as needed.
- Ensures robust data backup and recovery systems are in place and tested regularly.
- Supports disaster recovery planning and execution.
Data Management & Reporting (30%)
- Supports business intelligence initiatives by ensuring data integrity, security, and availability across systems.
- Develops and maintains dashboards, reports, and data visualizations within the installed applications (i.e. PowerBI).
- Supports data migration, cleansing, and transformation initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with data governance, privacy legislation, and reporting standards.
- Works with cross functional leaders/teams to identify the required data needs and design systems, and/or install and maintain the necessary software, to accurately and reliably capture the data.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Five (5) years experience in systems analysis and solution design that supports strategic goals.
- Strong working knowledge of IT and network infrastructure, operating systems (Microsoft), experience working with ERPs/CRMs, workflow automations, API's/middleware, data management and cyber security.
- Demonstrated experience with business process analysis and process improvement, Business Intelligence dashboards, KPIs, and visual reports.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver end-user training and support for new tools and workflows.
- Experience working within and leading cross-functional project teams, project/change management, stakeholder engagement and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven high level of initiative, innovation, and attention to detail.
- Ability to use discretion, judgment and tact in handling sensitive/confidential information/situations.
- Relevant certifications are considered an asset:
- Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum)
- ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks
- Data privacy or cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or equivalent)
- Microsoft (Azure, M365, Power Platform)
Other Information
This position is full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday with a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package. Core work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm. You are able to do a staggered start time one (1) hour either way of 8:30am. Given the nature of this role, some nonstandard hours may be required including periodic nights and weekends. The role is primarily situationed at Head Office (Dufferin/Lawrence).
