IHM Mechanical is a leading mechanical company operating across Western Canada. This position is based out of Burnaby, BC, and we're currently seeking Apprentice Plumbing Technician to join our Construction (Install) Division.
We specialize in commercial and industrial mechanical installations, including Supermarkets, Food Production Facilities, and large-scale new build and retrofit projects. IHM Mechanical is part of the Arcticom Group (TAG), a North America based network of mechanical companies that provide HVACR, Plumbing, Electrical and Controls services.
This is an exciting time to join our team at a high-growing stage. We are looking for an experienced Installation Technician to join our growing team.
Construction Apprentice Plumbing Technician Responsibilities
As a Construction Apprentice Plumbing Technician, you will report to IHM Mechanical Construction Manager and Foreman Team, and carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
- Install and repair plumbing systems in commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Interpret and implement blueprints, specifications, and building codes accurately.
- Collaborate with foreman team, project managers, and other trades to ensure seamless project completion.
- Plan layout and installation of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures based on specifications and code.
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues efficiently during project execution.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and equipment.
- Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, technicians, and management.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail.
- Ability to read and implement site safety and quality control measures.
- Working knowledge of local, provincial, and federal safety regulations and building codes.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Physically fit – able to lift 25–50 lbs frequently and perform duties that involve bending, stooping, and twisting.
