Our client, a highly regarded Canadian professional services firm, is seeking an accomplished Senior Manager – International Tax to join their tax advisory team in Vancouver, BC. Key Responsibilities
• Advise multinational corporations on inbound/outbound Canadian investments, tax structuring, and compliance.
• Lead and manage complex cross-border tax projects, including EIFEL, FAPI, surplus calculations, foreign reporting, withholding tax, and tax treaty interpretation.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations for clients with international activities.
• Identify and implement tax-efficient strategies for global transactions and structuring.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships as a key advisor.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, and other internal/external stakeholders.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior tax professionals, fostering growth and expertise.
• Stay current with changes in Canadian and international tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.
• Oversee multiple tax engagements, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
Requirements• Canadian CPA designation. • Minimum 5 years of Canadian tax experience, with a focus on cross-border taxation at a CPA firm in Canada.
• Experience in tax structuring, advisory, and compliance for multinational corporations.
• In-depth knowledge of Canadian tax laws, international tax treaties, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Recent or current experience at a CPA firm in Canada (full-time presence in Vancouver office required).
• Demonstrated leadership in managing complex tax projects and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
• Team management experience (team size: up to 10 direct reports).
