Job Summary:

The Floor Refinishing Helper assists skilled technicians in the preparation, sanding, staining, and sealing of hardwood and other flooring surfaces. This entry-level role involves physical labor, on-site support, and the ability to follow directions to help ensure high-quality flooring results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in moving furniture and clearing work areas
• Clean and prepare surfaces for refinishing (e.g., vacuuming, removing nails or staples)
• Operate sanding and buffing machines under supervision
• Apply stains, sealants, and finishes as directed
• Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition
• Help with taping off areas to prevent overspray
• Support cleanup duties after each project

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in construction or flooring is an asset but not required
