We are looking for welders to join our growing team!

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements;
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements;
  • Set up components for welding according to specification (E.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements);
  • Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper;
  • Mig Weld – aluminum and steel components based on specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings;
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces;
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead);
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures ensuing quality standards are met;
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards;
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on given task ;
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and programs

Health and safety:

  • Work SMART and work SAFE – follow all company policies and procedures;
  • Must wear the proper PPE as per company policy;
  • Housekeeping – ensure proper storage of all tools area is kept clean and tidy; no slip trip or fall hazards are present, and all materials are stored in a proper container/cabinet;
  • Ensure that the equipment is in proper working order, if applicable conduct pre and post work inspections on tools/equipment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Able to take direction both oral and written;
  • Highly organized, well planned, productive, self-directed individual who requires minimal supervision, and is able to meet tight production timelines;
  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills, possess the ability to make decision and to influence others;
  • Intermediate mathematical skills is required;
  • You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Ability to operate hoist and lifting equipment, prepare jigs;
  • Ability to use general assembly tools – impact gun, torque wrench, etc.;

Qualifications:

  • CWB certification is preferred with a 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience with steel, aluminum and/or stainless steel required;
  • Experience with MIG welding highly preferred
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses;
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, tape measures and angle gauges
  • Ability to perform intermediate math, convert decimals to factional equivalents and fractions to decimal equivalents;
  • Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time;
  • Exposure to or have worked in an environment where Lean/Six Sigma principals were practiced

Working Environment at Walden Welding and Mechanical:
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside in heat, cold, humid, and dry, arid conditions. Must use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to elements such as dust, fumes, noise and odors. This position may include lifting up to 50lbs at times. Stand long periods of time, bend, twist, and reach (overhead, waist level) from the floor. May be requested to work overtime and on weekends.
