Position Summary:We are looking for an experienced and qualified Civil Engineer to play a key role in the growth and success of our client's local operations. The successful candidate will work closely with municipalities and government bodies to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects. This position offers full lifecycle project involvement-from proposal and design to construction and final commissioning-and requires a strong leadership presence, both in managing projects and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and support the expansion of the local civil engineering practice.
Manage municipal and land development projects from planning through to completion.
Design and oversee infrastructure components including subdivisions, water systems, sanitary and stormwater networks, roadworks, and site grading.
Prepare and administer project contracts and documents.
Provide technical guidance and ensure design quality across project teams.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to staff development.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Engage with Indigenous communities, government agencies, and other partners.
Develop familiarity with local agencies such as the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) and the City of Salmon Arm.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
Minimum 5 years of civil engineering design experience, ideally in a consulting environment.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Solid understanding of infrastructure design for land development, including water, sewer, stormwater, road, and grading systems.
Experience with water treatment and sewage systems is an asset.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive work ethic.
A passion for contributing to community development and regional growth.
Familiarity with MMCD standards (certification is a plus).
Ability to manage both conceptual and detailed design phases.
Capable of preparing project proposals, scope documents, and fee estimates.
Demonstrated leadership in delivering civil engineering projects with increasing responsibility.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:
