As a Fleet & Rentals Technician, you play an essential role in supporting the Fleet coordinator on the day-to-day operations of the fleet and rental department. You are integral in assisting with inventory management, property tracking and ensuring the fleet's and facility's overall functionality and cleanliness.

What you will be responsible for:Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:

  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with vehicles and trailers.
  • Ability to use basic tools and power tools.
  • Ensure that all vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards and address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Deliver trucks and equipment to worksites and vendors.
  • Wash and clean trucks and equipment
  • Assist in roadside safety equipment installations.
  • Organize equipment within the warehouse/yard.
  • Load and unload equipment and tools.
  • Other duties as outlined by manager

Record Keeping:

  • Keep accurate records of all the rental assets

Vehicle Presentation:

  • Ensure that the vehicles and trailers are clean, both inside and out, and presentable to customers for rental services.

Rental Fleet Management and Customer Service:

  • Assist in the management of rental assets availability, ensuring that assets are ready for customers as scheduled.
  • Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with rental customers, addressing their questions and concerns.

Cost Control and Compliance:

  • Work efficiently to control maintenance and repair costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Work closely with other team members, including fleet managers and customer service representatives, to ensure the smooth operation of the fleet, rental services and installations.
  • Provide regular reports on fleet maintenance, vehicle availability, and any issues that may affect the operation of the fleet and rental services.

What we need from you:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training or certification in automotive technology preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair would be considered as an asset.
  • Basic construction knowledge would be an asset.
  • Experience in towing trailers would be an asset.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Basic computer skills for record keeping and maintenance software usage.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills for interactions with rental customers.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair situations.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.

Where/When you will be working:

  • 40 hours work per week. (hours worked per week may vary depending on company needs).
  • Possible shift work including evenings, nights and weekends with the primary shift between 7 AM and 8 PM. (Typically 8 hours shift)
  • Working outside and in the warehouse/yard in all types of weather.
    The recruitment process for this role typically lasts1 to 2 weeks and includes a phone interview, behavioral assessment and an in-person interview.
