Our client, a major Canadian financial institution with a national presence and global reputation, is looking for a Technical Product Owner who's responsible for ensuring that one or more development teams (pods) deliver customer-focused product increments that generate organizational value. The role involves setting a clear product vision, managing the backlog, removing blockers, gathering customer feedback, and ensuring Agile best practices are followed. The Product Owner aligns closely with stakeholders across business and technology to drive strategy and maximize product value.
Term: 1-Year Contract
Location: Toronto, ON / London, ON (hybrid)
NOTE: Please apply with your Word version resume
What You'll Do
  • Translate broad business problems into sharp AI/ML use cases, and craft use cases into product visions.
  • Help intake and assess AI use cases submitted by business for review and bring in required stakeholders to consider moving the use case through the approval process.
  • Own machine learning products from vision to backlog; prioritizing features and defining minimum viable releases; maximizing the value your products generate, and the ROI of your pod.
  • Guide Agile pods on continuous improvement, ensuring that the next sprint is delivered better than the previous.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify, refine and (occasionally) reject opportunities to build machine learning products; collaborate with support functions such as risk, technology, model risk management and incorporate interfacing features.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation and training materials for new system implementations.
  • Facilitate the professional & technical development of your colleagues through mentorship and feedback.
  • Anticipate resource needs as solutions move through the model lifecycle, scaling pods up and down as models are built, perform, degrade, and need to be rebuilt.
  • Champion model development standards, industry best-practices, and rigorous testing protocols to ensure model excellence.
  • Self-direct, with the ability to identify meaningful work in down times and effectively prioritize in busy times.
  • Drive value through product, feature, and release prioritization, maximizing ROI & modeling velocity.
  • Be an exceptional collaborator in a high-interaction environment.
  • Serve as the representative for all Enterprise-wide AI initiatives (M365 CoPilot).
  • Assist in drafting model development reports and enforce enterprise AI governance standards for all AI/ML projects across the investment bank.
