We're seeking a strategic and experienced Product Owner to lead the development and delivery of a Know Your Customer (KYC) product within a major North American financial institution. In this role, you'll drive the vision, roadmap, and execution of KYC capabilities that enable exceptional customer experiences while meeting evolving regulatory expectations.
As a senior Product Owner, you'll work cross-functionally with engineering, AML compliance, business leaders, and control functions to maximize the value of the KYC product. You'll manage the product backlog, resolve delivery blockers, and lead Agile teams to continuously deliver measurable outcomes. This role requires a strong understanding of KYC/AML controls, customer due diligence processes, and Agile product management practices.

What You'll Do

• Own and manage a prioritized KYC product backlog aligned to business vision, customer value, and regulatory requirements.
  
• Develop and execute KYC strategic planning and roadmaps to enable scalable product capabilities.
  
• Guide the full product lifecycle - from concept to launch - while managing risks and interdependencies.
  
• Partner closely with engineering, compliance, AML, and business lines to ensure functional alignment.
  
• Track and report on product OKRs, KPIs, maturity metrics, capacity planning, and financial impact.
  
• Support ongoing regulatory exams, audits, and control reviews related to KYC functions.
  
• Deliver thought leadership in KYC/AML practices and challenge the status quo to improve compliance solutions.
  
• Foster strong relationships across three lines of defense, including internal controls, AML, and operations.
  
• Ensure that Agile teams deliver customer-focused product increments that enhance both client and colleague experiences.
  

RequirementsWhat You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field.
  
• 7+ years of relevant experience in product management or business transformation.
  
• 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner or in an Agile delivery environment.
  
• Strong command of Agile principles, Scrum/SAFe delivery, and product lifecycle management.
  
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  
• Experience in financial services, preferably in KYC, AML, or customer due diligence initiatives.
  
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and/or SAFe certifications
  
• ACAMS or CAMS certification (or deep familiarity with AML/KYC frameworks) is an asset.
  
• Experience supporting contact center or retail banking digital transformation initiatives.
  
• Technical literacy in cloud, data, and workflow platforms.
  
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  
• Familiarity with vendor governance, third-party risk, and regulatory oversight processes.
  
• Experience in people or team leadership.
