Salary:

Starting salary ranges from $74,618.00 - $88,536.00 annually based on experience and qualifications, as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement, with annual increments up to a maximum of $114,001.00. Vacation entitlement is 240 hours per year (pro-rated from the hire date) to be utilized during the summer months (July and August). The College also provides paid time off during its annual holiday closure from December 25 to January 1. The position includes a comprehensive extended health and dental benefits package, and enrolment in the College Pension Plan is mandatory, with employer-matched contributions.

Description:

Northern Lights College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as an Instructor in the Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) program. This is a rewarding opportunity to share your industry expertise with students who are beginning their careers in the skilled trades.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about the Millwright trade, committed to student success, and enthusiastic about training the next generation of industry professionals. Instructor assignments may include any level of apprenticeship or foundation training, delivered in our state-of-the-art facility located in Dawson Creek, B.C.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as a Millwright (Industrial Mechanic).
  • Minimum of five years of related industry experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive college environment.
  • A supportive and student-centred approach to teaching and learning.

Preferred:

  • Previous teaching or instructional experience.
  • Completion of Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or an equivalent adult education credential, or a willingness to obtain.
  • Generalist background, including oil and gas, forestry, and mining operations.
