General Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Planner to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and coordination of maintenance activities throughout our facilities. You will also support reliability initiatives and data-driven maintenance planning. This position will be based primarily in Palmerston, reporting to the Maintenance manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

CMMS Administration

  • Manage PMs, assets, work orders, and spare parts in systems like Oracle-JDE, EASE, Maintenance Connection/ Maximo
  • Ensure database accuracy and data integrity
  • Assist supervisors and maintenance assistant managers to Schedule PMs and WOs in the CMMS.
  • Link spare parts to open work orders and assets.
  • Generate Maintenance schedules in different formats as required by Maintenance supervisors.
  • Onboard PMs/inspections into CMMS with documentation support
  • Proactively liaise with TGMO and TGNA on developing standards and best practices within CMMS
  • Support PM documentation and planning of manual PM programs per OEM recommendations or internal Machine Group team.

Reliability & Data Analysis

  • Track and report key reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, downtime trends, failure rates)
  • Support root-cause analysis and assist proactive PM/PM initiatives
  • Develop weekly/monthly dashboards showing maintenance KPIs and asset performance

Coordination & Planning

  • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Purchasing teams for parts scheduling
  • Facilitate shutdown planning: task sequencing, labor allocation, and risk assessment
  • Serve as central point of contact for maintenance planning processes
  • Monitor and track acquisition of spare parts for open WOs and scheduled PMs.
  • Work with purchasing personnel to maintain adequate levels of spare parts.
  • Analyze work orders and prepare critical/high-risk parts list
  • Update WOs with ETA of ordered parts.

Reports

  • Generate regular reports: PM compliance, backlog status, technician performance
  • Document work orders, equipment manuals, repair histories, and SOPs
  • Maintain dashboards and share insights in team reliability reviews
  • Maintains accurate status of the backlog of work orders.
  • Identify, correct, and report mistakes in the CMMS created by Maintenance and Production personnel.
  • Assist with Shutdown Labor planning and reports
  • Provide central source of information concerning maintenance work, equipment, and equipment repair.

Other

  • Maintain a strong relationship with Production and Maintenance personnel.
  • Be aware of equipment reliability status at all times.
  • Perform other duties and tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager per company's changing business needs.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Education or Experience

  • Have relevant qualification (minimum High School or possible Associate Diploma).
  • Five years of minimum experience in a production maintenance environment supporting CMMS.
  • Strong experience with Database use and data entry required.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Strong MS Office skills are required.
