General Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Machine Group Specialist (Mechanical) to support our manufacturing and automation operations. This position plays a key role in the integration and optimization of robotic systems, with a focus on the design, fabrication, and programming of End of Arm Tooling (EOAT).
The ideal candidate will have a solid mechanical and electrical background, with hands-on experience in robotic programming, equipment troubleshooting, machinery modification, and injection molding systems. As a core member of the machine group, you will work closely with the design and programming teams to ensure the reliability and efficiency of automated equipment while driving continuous improvement across all manufacturing processes.
Abilities, Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for designing and manufacturing End of Arm Tools (EOAT)
Inventory control of all EOAT components.
Responsible for programming Fanuc and Star Robots.
Communicate with the machine group on all critical mechanical/electrical changes and updates.
Provide technical advice and assistance to field personnel, contractors, etc.
Troubleshoot low voltage electrical control circuits.
Knowledge of AutoCad, Solidworks would be an asset.
Knowledge of applicable mechanical procedures, standards and regulations.
Some computer knowledge is required.
Troubleshooting and modification of existing machinery.
Manage and support new equipment installations.
Confident understanding of the Injection area including IMM, material handling chilled water, process water, hot runners and automated assembly equipment.
Education & Qualifications
Have relevant qualification, Millwright, MTBI trade certificate. Robotics and Automation Diploma, Robotics Technician/Automation Technician Certificate).
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 5 years of experience in a similar role required. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Supervisory Responsibility
Report any unsafe activities within the company to the machine group supervisor.
Responsible to schedule and supervise third party contractors during installation projects.

Ability to exercise balanced judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs and project deadlines.
