Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Executive Accounting Coordinator to support our finance team with day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in tax preparation, and compliance reporting, including the preparation and filing of 1099 forms.
About the Role / Key Accountabilities:
- Reconcile and prepare contractor's data for 1099 forms in compliance with IRS regulations
- Support the preparation of various financial deliverables including but not limited to US and Canadian tax returns, third party administrative and financial reporting inquiries, compliance reporting etc.
- Assist with audits and respond to financial inquiries
- Maintain organized documentation
- Communication, organization and management of senior executives
- Support with the development of meeting agenda and notes as required
- Plan and orchestrate tasks as per senior executives' priorities to ensure the objectives are met
- Summarize data from data tables for analytic purposes
- Compliance research and reporting as required
- Other responsibilities as assigned by senior executives
- Ability to work with and manage confidential information and use independent judgment.
- Familiarity with 1099 filing requirements and tax reporting
- Proficiency using accounting software
- Knowledge of IRS compliance
- 3 years of experience with 1099 prep or as an admin assistant
- College or University degree in Accounting, Finance or a business related field
