Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS) is currently seeking a qualified Community Engagement Manager to lead the strategic development and management of donor relations, institutional giving, and community partnerships that advance YESS's program funding priorities.

What We Do

YESS is a not-for-profit agency working with youth facing difficult realities. Based in Edmonton, our Youth Support Centre provides immediate and low-barrier 24/7 sleep support and individualized wrap-around supports for young people aged 15 - 24.

We work collaboratively within a network of care focused on the prevention of youth homelessness by providing youth with the necessary supports to stabilize their housing, improve their wellbeing, build life skills, connect with community, and avoid re-entry into homelessness.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Director of Fund Development, this role focuses on cultivating and stewarding major donors and institutional partners, while also fostering broad community engagement initiatives. A key element of this role is the development of strong, sustainable relationships through personalized stewardship and partnership-building that support the agencys mission

Responsibilities Include:

Institutional Giving Strategy Development and Execution

  • Design and implement a multi-year Institutional Giving Plan aligned with YESS's funding priorities, with a strong focus on third-party events and expanding outreach initiatives.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit new institutional funding opportunities including corporations, foundations, and third-party organizations.
  • Collaborate across departments toidentify funding needs and tailor proposals accordingly.

Relationship Building and Stewardship

  • Serve as main point of contact with organizations wishing to host third party events in support of YESS, from initial outreach through and including post-event stewardship
  • Lead the development and execution of stewardship strategies that deepen donor commitment and increase long-term engagement.
  • Develop customized stewardship plans for donors and partners, ensuring timely and meaningful recognition and reporting.

Community Engagement and Partnership Development

  • Cultivate and maintain external relationships to build community partnerships supporting YESS programs and priorities.
  • Develop and coordinate community outreach initiatives, events, and third-party fundraising efforts that engage volunteers, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to expand community awareness and support for agency goals.

Portfolio Management and Revenue Generation

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate and institutional prospects and donors with clear performance metrics (e.g., donor retention, growth, engagement).
  • Present tailored opportunities for involvement including volunteerism, events, and third-party fundraising initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of sponsorship benefits and donor commitments.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate donor and partner records in the CRM, ensuring effective tracking of interactions, gifts, and stewardship activities.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to evaluate campaign and program effectiveness and inform strategy.
  • Monitor trends and insights to improve donor retention and acquisition strategies.

Collaboration and Support

  • Work collaboratively with the Strategic Coordinator- Executive office and broader team to support major campaigns, events and strategic initiatives

Additionally, you will provide a professional level of service to donors, promote the agency in a positive manner to the outside community and share information, communicate, and collaborate with other YESS staff.

  • Strategic Mindset: Skilled at aligning daily activities with the organization's long-term goals.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 7 years of Executive Support
  • A combination of skills, competencies, and education will also be considered
  • Knowledge of office systems: MS-Office and SharePoint preferred

Prerequisites

  • Clear police clearance (CRIM) within the last six months
  • Child and Youth Intervention (CYIM) check both obtained within the last six months
  • Valid class 5 drivers license
  • Drivers abstract within the last three months
  • $1 million personal liability vehicle insurance
