Our client is currently seeking Forklift Operator/Yard Person at their job site in Dieppe, NB
A dependable and safety-conscious Forklift/Yard Associate to join their team at the lumber yard. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operation of forklifts, organizing and maintaining yard inventory, and supporting both production and customer service needs. You'll play a key part in ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of materials, contributing directly to the smooth and effective daily operations of the yard. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety are essential for success in this position.Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts and yard equipment to move materials efficiently
Load and unload trucks carrying lumber, panels, and other building supplies
Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of obstructions to ensure accessibility
Prepare and stage customer orders for delivery or pickup in a timely manner
Check all incoming and outgoing materials to confirm quality and accuracy
Support customers and delivery drivers with loading when necessary
Conduct routine inspections and light maintenance on equipment
Maintain compliance with all safety guidelines and workplace policies
Collaborate with team members while also managing tasks independently
QualificationsA current forklift operator certificationExperience in a lumber yard or a similar hands-on environment is an asset
Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors in all weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced setting
Clear communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude
Basic math ability to assist with measuring, inventory, and material handling
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a strong work ethic
