As an Intermediate Hardware Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in our engineering team, contributing to the design, development, and testing of advanced hardware systems for power grid automation and high-voltage instrumentation. Your responsibilities will include circuit design, PCB development, embedded hardware integration, and system-level validation.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and test analog and digital circuits for embedded systems and power grid applications
- Develop and review PCB designs and layouts for embedded hardware solutions
- Collaborate with software teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components
- Conduct hardware testing, including debugging, validation, and troubleshooting of prototypes
- Design and implement test benches for hardware validation and automated testing
- Work with cross-functional teams to define hardware requirements for NuGrid products
- Support continuous improvement by proposing and implementing design optimizations
- Maintain thorough documentation of hardware designs, test results, and other relevant materials
- Participate in the development of product prototypes, from concept to production
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- At least 24 months of experience in hardware design or embedded systems, including:
- Circuit design and schematic capture
- PCB layout experience using tools such as Altium, Eagle, or KiCad
- Analog and digital circuit testing and debugging
- Embedded systems experience, including microcontrollers, sensors, or FPGAs
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) for team collaboration
- Self-driven and able to independently explore and understand unfamiliar or complex technical topics
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with FPGA or ASIC design and development
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI design principles and best practices
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
- High-speed PCB design and PCBA layout/manufacturing experience
- Exposure to high-voltage systems or power grid-related hardware
- Interest in the power grid sector, smart grid technologies, and sustainable energy solutions
