Wellness Worker (Full Time Permanent)

Our Place To Dream - Post Majority Housing

We are currently seeking a qualified and culturally grounded Wellness Worker to join our Post Majority Services team, supporting Young Indigenous Adults aged 19 to 26, particularly those of Dakelh heritage, who have transitioned from care and are now receiving extended services. This position plays a critical role in guiding and assisting these young adults as they navigate their path toward independence and wellness. The Health and Wellness Worker will operate within a collaborative team environment, providing individualized and group support for clients residing in our supportive housing program. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the health and social determinants that impact Indigenous youth, particularly those with lived experience in the child care system. Provide daily one-on-one support and facilitate group sessions for young adults experiencing mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized life plans in collaboration with clients and relevant professionals. Deliver crisis intervention and emergency response services as needed. Foster cultural and community engagement by facilitating access to traditional practices, ceremonies, and culturally relevant programming. Provide referrals to community-based and in-house services that promote skill development, personal growth, and long-term stability. Support clients in strengthening their cultural identity and connection to community, in alignment with their personal and spiritual journey.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), two-year diploma, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience in youth care or a related human services field.

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to support young adults in identifying, developing, and reinforcing their cultural identity and life goals.
• In-depth knowledge of Dakelh culture, local resources, and community systems.
• Prior experience working with Indigenous communities in a culturally safe and respectful manner.
• The following certifications are required (or the successful candidate must be willing to obtain them upon hire): First Aid, Class 4 Driver's License Crisis Prevention and Suicide Intervention, Food Safe
• Ability to successfully complete a criminal record check
• Starting wage $32/hr. to $37/hr. based on education and experience.
