FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:
With responsibility for both the Fulfillment Warehouse and Inventory Management, the Fulfillment Manager will lead a team of employees to maintain the smooth, efficient, and safe functioning at our Mississauga location.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Fulfillment Manager will be responsible for all day-to-day management and operations of the Fulfilment warehouse including; team/labour management, order management, receiving, inventory, transportation (drivers), purchasing (along with CEO), and for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Together with the CEO, the Fulfillment Manager will collaborate and advise on all strategic initiatives relating to the warehouse and operational management of the business including (but not limited to); business development, identifying and initiating process improvement areas, operational performance analysis, staffing and retention, driving productivity and efficiency through the team, improving employee engagement, warehouse layout and configuration, best practices, etc.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Fulfillment
- Oversees product fulfillment, inventory control, vendor/distributor management, and logistics
- Streamlines processes and develops standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory control, logistics management, and order fulfillment to meet operational goals
- Drives continuous improvement in fulfillment in areas such as quality, service, productivity, and overall costs
- Directs programs and procedures that lead to inventory accuracy, leads the team in problem-solving exercises to identify the root causes of inventory discrepancies
- Manages the reverse logistics by processing returns
- Works with clients, vendors, partners, and distributors, as well as internal business divisions, to ensure accurate product fulfillment for both customers and internal divisions; improved relationships, performance and lead times
- Partners with the Sales team to respond to sales calls
- Ensures customer quote accuracy, with keen attention to list prices, margins, and customer cost
- Initiates and develops pipeline of new business or repeat business by putting together proposals for fulfillment
- Directly manages budget and P&L for operations in concert with Finance department that deliver on yearly profit objectives
- Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment and managing all budgets and capital expenditures
- Provides weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on fulfillment and performance KPIs
- Provides data-backed and actional updates to management team to improve order fulfillment SLAs and vendor performance
- Oversee compliance with established safety and operating policies
People Leadership
- Designs and directs the work of the functional area to successfully accomplish operational goals and attain optimum performance levels
- Sets goals and objectives that aligns with company strategy for Warehouse staff to inspire, motivate and produce results
- Delegates responsibilities for projects and initiatives to the team as appropriate to achieve positive change
- Establishes, implements, revises and maintains policies and procedures related to the Operations department team
- Leads regular and peak operations planning meetings and activities and develops strategic plans to meet peak operational needs
- Conducts an effective employee selection, hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance management and staff productivity
- Trains staff in all facets of fulfillment
- Manages talent performance with documented SOPs through coaching, positive communication, consistent feedback, one to ones and monthly department meetings resulting in improved performance
- Ensures all Company timelines are met for processes, trainings and initiatives
- Handles all issues that arise within the Operations department
- Performs other related duties

Education / Qualifications
- College degree preferred in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management
- Supply Chain Management (SCM) negotiations training considered an asset
- PMP certification considered an asset
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of management experience, preferably in warehouse operations, leading a team of 10+
- 510 years of experience in fulfillment
- Strong working knowledge of logistics technology systems such as eCommerce, EDI, HighJump WMS, TMS, RFID, and parcel conveyors considered an asset
- Knowledge of trade compliance and customs regulations, including bonded warehouse operations
- Proven experience in leading and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and overall warehouse operations
- Strong business acumen with the ability to effectively advise the management team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, peers, and superiors
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
