Are you the one were looking for?

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Client Care Worker Rec Focused who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment to our clients, families, and each other.

The Client Care Worker Rec Focused will be working in the Supportive Housing Program to support 10 adults living with a dual diagnosis. In this position, you will be scheduled Monday to Friday on rotating days and afternoon shifts, within a 24-hour program.

This is a unionized, full-time, permanent position. The rate of pay is $21.79 per hour. This position is 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide specialized and individual services to individuals with complex needs, behavioural and mental health challenges in a residential setting.
  2. Offer crisis intervention as appropriate, using safety plans, care plans, emergency intervention, and on-call as appropriate.
  3. Regular checks on clients to ensure they remain safe and stable.
  4. Cleaning of the program common areas, and any preparation that can be completed to assist in the following shifts.
  5. Documentation such as case notes, med documentation, and cash counts.
  6. Client medication administration and basic health monitoring.
  7. Team meeting attendance, communication, and shift change documentation.
  8. To interact with clients in a dignified and professional manner, acknowledging their strengths and following a client-centered approach.
  9. Expected to plan, budget, schedule, and execute recreational activities for the clients.

What you will bring:

  1. Post-secondary degree/diploma in Social Services and/or Recreational Therapy.
  2. Current First Aid/CPR and NVCI certifications.
  3. Minimum 1 year of experience, effectively working with marginalized populations and a demonstrated ability to form rapport with target populations, preferably in a residential setting.
  4. Minimum 1 year of experience running recreational therapy programs.
  5. Experience providing client-centered services within a multi-disciplinary team of providers.
