The organization encourages applicants from all qualified individuals.We are currently seeking a skilled and committed individual to join our team as a:CHILD PROTECTION WORKER
Temporary Full-Time. (up to one year contract)$64,717 - $86,789 per year. (34 hours per week)Under the mandate of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, major responsibilities include:
  • Provides ongoing child protection service to all assigned cases under supervision.
  • Conducts child protection investigations following reports that children are or may be at risk and does so in accordance with the Standards of the Ontario Risk Assessment Model.
  • Works with parents and/or parent substitutes, and children in their own homes to collaborate with other community resources, and/or extended family in the efforts to prevent or alleviate situations which may be detrimental to the family functioning and/or to the well-being of the children.
  • Collaborates with other services within the organization and community to ensure the best possible service to the family.
  • Focus on community engagement and building partnerships with those in our community who work with and support the Indigenous community.
  • Co-ordinates all court related documentation to assigned cases.
  • Prepares all written work in connection with the assigned caseload.
  • Develops and reviews service plans in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.S.W./M.S.W. preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as deemed acceptable by the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, individuals, families, groups.
  • Demonstrated skills in assessment and case management.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise reports, computer literate and able to meet deadlines and other administrative requirements.
