Overview:

As a French Translator and Editor, you will be responsible for translating, reviewing, editing, and proofreading French content across our client's digital platforms—including online banking, mobile apps, client website, and affiliated websites. You'll ensure that all French content is accurate, consistent, concise, and aligned with our clients brand voice, tone, and accessibility standards. You'll also contribute to refining our French language processes and documentation.

We're looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong interpersonal skills who thrives under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Expert French Language Skills:
• You possess native-level fluency in French, supported by a degree in translation or equivalent experience. You're skilled in terminology research and understand the nuances of Canadian French. You're proficient with tools like Trados Studio, Antidote, Termium, Le GDT, and familiar with OQLF standards.
• Quality Assurance:
• You translate, proofread, and edit content to ensure it meets editorial and linguistic standards, including those set by the Office québécois de la langue française. You ensure all content from internal and external sources is accurate and aligned with our clients guidelines.
• Efficient Project Management:
• You manage translation requests with precision and efficiency, collaborating closely with internal teams and external vendors to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
• Proactive Problem Solving:
• You're comfortable managing multiple priorities and resolving ambiguities in content. You use your strong communication and collaboration skills to advocate for high-quality French content.
• Continuous Improvement:
• You regularly assess and enhance translation workflows, recommending improvements to tools, processes, and content libraries to boost efficiency and quality.

Required Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in French and strong English proficiency
• 5+ years of experience in translation/editing within marketing, banking, software development, or UX design
• Proven ability to follow brand guidelines and WCAG accessibility standards
• Experience working with OQLF standards and maintaining a content style guide
• Familiarity with agile development environments
