The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor to business leaders, aligning HR initiatives with organizational goals to drive performance, culture, and employee engagement. This role acts as a consultant on talent management, workforce planning, employee relations, and organizational development while ensuring compliance with labour regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to execute HR strategies that support business objectives and drive growth.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, optimize recruitment processes, and build talent pipelines.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, resolving workplace issues, conducting investigations, and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Guide leaders on goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement strategies.
  • Assist in implementing pay structures, incentive programs, and benefits alignment.
  • Identify skill gaps, recommend training programs, and support career development initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to labour laws (e.g., Employment Standards, Human Rights Code, Workplace Safety) and company policies.
  • Advocate for inclusive practices and support DEI initiatives across teams.
  • Utilize HRIS and data insights to inform decision-making and track key metrics (e.g., turnover, engagement).
  • Facilitate smooth transitions during restructuring, mergers, or process improvements.

Expected Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3–5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally with exposure to areas like employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and policy development.
  • CPHR, SHRM-CP, PHR, or CHRP designation preferred.
  • Knowledge of Canadian labour laws (Employment Standards Code, Workplace Safety & Health Act, Human Rights Code).
  • Proven ability to influence leaders, manage employee relations, and implement HR programs.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
