Location: Kiwanis Manor Assisted Living, West Vancouver, British Columbia

About Kiwanis Manor:

Kiwanis Manor, built in 2006 and owned by Kiwanis North Shore Housing Society, is an apartment complex with 75 affordable suites—38 of which are funded assisted living units managed by Park Place on behalf of Vancouver Coastal Health. Each one-bedroom suite is approximately 520 square feet and includes additional storage, with most offering a balcony or ground-level patio.

Located near a community centre, swimming pool, library, and seniors centre, Kiwanis Manor provides an ideal living environment for seniors in West Vancouver. The property also includes three additional buildings offering independent living, managed by the Housing Society, while the assisted living suites are funded.

Position Summary:

The General Manager will oversee the full operations of Kiwanis Manor Assisted Living, ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and a supportive environment for residents. This role includes managing the 38 funded assisted living suites in collaboration with Vancouver Coastal Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
  • Supervise and support staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and health authority standards.
  • Develop and implement care and service policies.
  • Collaborate with Vancouver Coastal Health to manage funded suites.
  • Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and partners.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee maintenance of suites and common areas.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation in care delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business administration (or related field),
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in healthcare or assisted living.
  • Strong understanding of assisted living regulations and standards.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  • Financial management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality senior care.
