About the Role:
Our client, a leading producer of wholesome frozen meals for major North American retailers, is looking for a full-time Operating Engineer to join their skilled maintenance team. What You'll Do:
You'll play a key role in keeping the facility running smoothly and safely by:
Operating and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers, refrigeration systems (NH3 and Freon), HVAC systems, and effluent systems.
Installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of mechanical equipment-pumps, conveyors, fans, and more.
Performing inspections and routine maintenance to keep everything in top working condition.
Reading blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues.
Collaborating with contractors and other maintenance staff to support plant operations.
Ensuring food safety and quality standards are upheld in all tasks.
What We're Looking For:
3-5 years of experience as an Operating Engineer in an industrial or food manufacturing setting.
Valid TSSA certification (3rd or 4th Class Operating Engineer preferred).
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, health & safety practices, and maintenance protocols.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work afternoon shifts, with occasional flexibility for extended hours or weekends.
