Salary:

Orenda Services to Children is seeking experienced, residential youth care workers to support special needs and at-risk youth in group home settings in the Upper Fraser Valley.

All programs are fully accredited and maintain a high level of care for children and youth, as well as place a high value on the team members who work to support them. We work closely with the Fraser Health Authority and Ministry of Children and Family Development to provide quality programs for children and youth.

All permanent positions are provided with afully-paid Extended Health Benefits Package,includingmedical and dental coverage. Qualified employees also become part of anemployer paid RRSP package, with monthly contributions based on employee earnings.

We are one of the longest established, residential programs in the province.

Positions available (full-time, part-time, casual)

Residential Youth Worker, 8-hour Day shift(7:00 - 3:00 p.m.)
Residential Youth Worker, 8-hour Evening shift(3:00 - 11:00 p.m.)

Awake, night worker, 8-hour shift(11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.)

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work effectively as a team; have strong interventions skills; and be able to communicate and interact positively with clients and their families. Applicants should have experience or a background in child/youth care, and the willingness to continue to learn in this challenging but exceptionally rewarding field.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide behaviour support to youth that may be experience anger or abuse issues, mental health issues, special needs or drug and alcohol use.
  • To participate in individualized service planning which will includes assessment and goal setting with youth
  • To promote social and emotional well-being
  • To ensure safe, healthy environments
  • To advocate for services
  • To provide prepare meals and maintain appropriate standard of cleanliness
  • To provide personal care and hygiene, when required

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Able to pass Criminal Record Check and HUB clearance for Vulnerable Sector
  • First Aid
  • TB Test
  • Valid BC drivers licence w/reliable vehicle
  • Support worker or youth care worker certificate, or equivalent education and experience

Worksafe coverage is provided.

Locations: Upper Fraser Valley.

Positions Available: Full-time, part-time. Overnight shifts are awake shifts.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $24.85-$31.75 per hour
