What you will be doing:
- Maintain timely and accurate processing of both Canadian and US payroll
- Adhere to tax laws, wage laws, and relevant regulations in Canada and the U.S.
- Address payroll processing issues and recommend process improvements
- Review & confirm payroll data to ensure accuracy in employee compensation
- Track the team's productivity, identifying areas for improvement, and promoting ongoing training and development
- Collaborate with the Payroll leadership to set performance goals for your team
- Payroll audits, support reconciliations, & perform variance analysis ensuring accuracy and reducing risks for compliance & finance teams
- Minimum five years experience of full cycle payroll, in a complex environment
- Minimum one year experience in a supervisor/lead position
- PCP or PLP Certification
- Payroll reporting experience, reconciliation and Year-End Processing and tax filings
- Ability to ensure compliance with legislative authorities
- Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy & strong attention to detail
- You are customer service-oriented with strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office products including Excel
- Proficiency with ERP accounting systems
- Team player with the ability to work independently
