Position Overview:As a Chef de Partie at TAPS Public House, you'll be a key player on our culinary team, responsible for maintaining high standards in food quality, consistency, and execution. You'll oversee your station, support the brigade, and contribute to a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen. Whether it's pub classics done right or new twists on crowd-pleasers, this is your chance to lead with skill, speed, and creativity.
Responsibilities:- Lead Your Station: Own your section of the kitchen, prepping and cooking to spec with consistency and efficiency.
- Prepare Top-Notch Pub Fare: Execute our menu with care — from elevated comfort food to seasonal specials.
- Set the Pace: Keep your mise en place sharp and ready to go for peak service times.
- Keep It Clean: Follow all sanitation and safety standards; maintain a clean, organized, and efficient station.
- Support the Team: Collaborate with line cooks, sous chefs, and kitchen leadership to ensure smooth, fast-paced service.
- Train & Coach: Help mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive kitchen culture.
- Manage Inventory & Waste: Support with stock control, proper storage, and minimizing waste wherever possible.
- Uphold the TAPS Standard: Ensure every plate meets our expectations for taste, presentation, and portion.
- 3+ years of experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment
- Culinary diploma or relevant certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, prep, and plating
- Ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume setting
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Clear communicator with solid teamwork and leadership abilities
- Food safety knowledge and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
