Job Title: Assistant Trader

Location: Markham, Ontario

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Trader to support our Financial Markets team. In this role, you will assist in FX and GOLD trading activities, support technical operations, contribute to product development, and ensure compliance with internal controls.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist with executing trading orders from corporate clients and financial institutions, including quoting and confirmation.
  • Support traders with price tracking, calculation, and market monitoring for FX, GOLD SPOT, Forward, SWAP, Options, IRS, and CCS products.
  • Participate in new product development initiatives and internal marketing activities.
  • Conduct FX market analysis and performance tracking of client-driven transactions.
  • Help maintain accurate trading data and records in compliance with risk controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including front-to-back office operations.
  • Attend internal and external training programs and development activities as assigned.
  • Assist in mentoring junior staff and supporting the broader trading team.

What You Bring to the Table:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 2 years' experience in trading, treasury, financial markets, or a related financial services role.
  3. Strong logical thinking and understanding of pricing mechanisms and trading structures.
  4. Ability to work with discipline and attention to detail, following business policies strictly.
  5. Familiarity with FX and derivative products is preferred.
  6. Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; knowledge of trading platforms is an asset.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and adapt in a fast-paced market environment.
