We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sales Manager to lead and grow a dynamic sales team. This individual will play a key role on the Senior Leadership Team, with responsibility for overall sales performance, strategy execution, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and lead the annual sales plan, budget, and team objectives.
- Represent the sales department at the senior leadership level.
- Analyze the competitive landscape through SWOT and market assessments.
- Establish and maintain effective sales policies, processes, and procedures.
- Oversee vendor negotiations and approvals.
Team Management & Development:
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing sales professionals aligned with core values.
- Set performance targets and hold team members accountable.
- Lead regular goal-setting and review sessions.
- Facilitate training programs and daily meetings with vendor product education.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and field support to team members.
Sales Execution:
- Utilize CRM tools to manage leads, opportunities, and customer relationships.
- Ensure achievement of revenue and gross profit targets through effective performance management.
- Collaborate with reps on sales visits, strategy, and deal closures.
- Monitor and support customer service standards and account engagement.
- Develop pricing strategies and oversee quotation processes.
Administrative Oversight:
- Maintain accurate client/vendor data in CRM and ERP systems.
- Document and refine the sales process for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education completed.
- 710 years of sales experience, with at least 35 years in a management role.
- Experience managing a team of 612 sales professionals.
- Background in technical sales is an asset.
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Must be comfortable traveling within Ontario to support team members.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Microsoft NAV or equivalent) is an advantage.
