OVERVIEW
Reporting to Director, Data Architecture and Engineering, the Enterprise Architect
plays a strategic role in aligning business and IT strategies, ensuring technology investments support the companys long-term goals while balancing current operational needs. This role provides guidance on technology roadmaps, principles, standards, and best practices, facilitating informed decision-making for both IT and business leaders. This role requires a visionary leader who can bridge the gap between business strategy and IT execution, ensuring the organization remains agile and competitive in an evolving technological landscape.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Leadership & Governance:
- Define, develop, and oversee the enterprise architecture framework, aligning it with business objectives.
- Lead enterprise architecture initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Direct and manage various projects across the technology and business teams with respect to architecture and guidance on best practices.
- Establish and enforce architecture governance processes and frameworks.
- Ensure vendors adhere to governance and frameworks.
- Architecture Development & Implementation:
- Design and implement enterprise-wide technology solutions to enhance business operations, leads technology projects and act as a liaison with the business and technical teams.
- Evaluate and recommend technology investments that drive innovation and operational efficiency.
- Lead the EA review board (EARB) to ensure adherence to the target-state architecture model.
- Manage exceptions to architectural standards at an enterprise level. Ensure documentation is maintained when decisions or exceptions are made.
- Ensure architecture diagrams and decisions are well maintained for the organization.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with business leaders to understand and translate business requirements into technology strategies.
- Provide strategic consultation to senior executives on IT investments, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with IT leadership and project management teams to align technology strategies with enterprise goals.
- Develop and communicate technology policies, IT and AI strategies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Technology Trends & Innovation:
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive.
- Recommend technology adoption strategies based on business relevance and deployment feasibility.
- Define and advocate technology strategies to drive digital transformation, data strategies, AI strategies all while maintaining operational excellence.
- Resource & Budget Management:
- Work with senior leadership to allocate budgets for architectural initiatives critical to business success.
- Define the skills and competencies required for the architecture team, ensuring proper training and development.
- Lead teams in technology planning and execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
Experience
- 15+ years of IT and business/industry experience, including architecture design, system lifecycle management, and infrastructure planning.
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior leadership.
- Exposure to diverse technologies, processing environments, and business re-engineering principles.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial modeling.
- Certified AWS Solutions Architect
- CISSP or CCSP
- Familiarity withSAP CDS Views, OData services, and ABAP for extensibility
- S/4 Hana Understanding ofSAP Integration Suite, APIs, and event-driven architectures for seamless system connectivity.
- ETL Expertise inreal-time and batch processing architectures for efficient data movement and transformation.
- Strong knowledge of data quality, governance, lineage, and master data management (MDM) principles.
- Ability to design and implement data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
- Data Lake and Integration knowledge a must.
- Hands-on experience withcloud-native data warehousing solutions (AWS Redshift)
- Ability to createhigh-performance data pipelines that enable real-time analytics and AI-driven insights.
Knowledge/Competencies/Skills
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to present complex concepts in a clear and user-friendly manner.
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities to develop high-performing teams.
- Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ADM, Zachman, or similar.
- Expertise with cloud computing AWS and Azure, cybersecurity, data models, AI/ML, and other emerging technologies.
- This role requires a visionary leader who can bridge the gap between business strategy and IT execution, ensuring the organization remains agile and competitive in an evolving technological landscape.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- All CM employees work 40 hours per week, remotely from a home office environment.
- Extra or flexible hours may be required on occasion.
