Job Title: Mechanical Service Estimator

Location: Markham, ON

Base Salary: $80,000 $130,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Our client, a well-established, forward-thinking mechanical and electrical contractor with a strong presence across Ontario with a growing pipeline of service-based mechanical projects, is seeking a Mechanical Service Estimator to join their Markham-based team. About the Role:

As the Mechanical Service Estimator, youll focus on pricing and coordinating estimates for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other service-related projects. Youll work closely with the VP of Service, as well as project managers and other estimators, in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role involves client walkthroughs, building scopes of work, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate and competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend client walkthroughs to gather necessary information for pricing
• Develop scopes of work and accurate cost estimates for mechanical service projects
• Coordinate with Plumbing Manager and approved subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate pricing
• Submit pricing proposals and follow up on submitted quotes
• Read and interpret drawings (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) for accurate estimating
• Assist with job coordination and occasional billing support
• Maintain strong communication with customers to build lasting, trusted relationships
• Take initiative to support other team members as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical service estimating or a closely related role
• Strong understanding of piping systems, HVAC, and plumbing processes
• Comfortable with attending site walkthroughs and translating findings into pricing models
• Able to build quotes for review and submission
• Skilled in interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical details to clients
• Familiarity with estimating software and tools such as BlueBean, Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office is an asset
