Stepping Stones Crisis Society is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by domestic violence and crisis situations. Their mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where those in need can find refuge, support, and resources to rebuild their lives. They offer a range of services, including emergency shelter, counselling, education, and advocacy, all aimed at empowering clients to overcome their challenges and achieve long-term stability and safety.
The Social Enterprises Manager oversees the daily operations and profitability of two retail locations in Cold Lake: Ella's Closet and Orbiting Trends, supporting income-generating activities that help fund Stepping Stones' programs. This role works closely with the Operations & Fund Development Team to promote financial sustainability, reduce reliance on external funding, and provide training and job opportunities for clients.Role Overview:
- Full Time, 40 hours / week

- Overseeing Daily operations of, Ella's Closet and Orbiting Trends, including staff management, scheduling, product presentation, inventory management, and carrying out seasonal changes and promotional activities
- Ensure customer satisfaction and that complaints are addressed professionally and with positive resolution for customer
- Manage the hiring and training of employees and volunteers
- Sign off on time sheets and schedules
- Donation management including allocating stock for both stores and donation flow during peak times
- Overseeing store level auctions
- Ensure OH&S and Stepping Stones Policies are implemented and adhered to.
- Ensure government regulations regarding second-hand merchandise are followed
- Identify methods, processes, and tools to implement, sustain and grow social enterprises/ income generation opportunities including fundraisers and securing new partnerships with local stakeholders and business owners
- Ensure accuracy of daily sales sheets, Inventory, bank deposits and any other financial records.
- Prepare quarterly reconciliation of Ella's Consignment
- Support development of effective business management processes, such as: budgets, costs and income analysis, feasible business strategies, etc.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary business certification considered an asset
- Minimum of 1 year of work and/or volunteer experience in Business Administration
- Class 5 Operator's License with acceptable abstract
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Budget development, administrative skills and financial management experience required
- Experience with designing, developing and implementing social enterprises highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized, flexible, independent, culturally sensitive and detail oriented with the ability to multitask
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Able to plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion
- Well-defined sense of diplomacy and professionalism, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
