This position typically works 37.5 hours per week with a hybrid work arrangement, occasional evening and weekend availability, and is based at our Hub location with some community travel required. The role operates in an open office environment with a designated workstation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Work closely with the Director or Child and Youth Development in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs focused on child and youth development.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs, opportunities, and resources for program enhancement.
- Ensure the Child and Youth Program is aligned with YW Framework, best practices, evidence-based approaches, and organizational goals.
- Monitor program outcomes and make data-driven decisions to improve effectiveness and impact.
- Adapt and evolve the program portfolio by adding new activities and initiatives that respond to emerging needs and opportunities.
- Set Clear Goals Together: establish clear expectations, goals, and priorities for the team. Ensure alignment with organizational objectives and work together to achieve them; celebrate individual milestones and achievements and team successes.
- Foster Collaboration: cultivate a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning within the team. Encourage open communication and teamwork, ensuring everyone feels valued and heard. Promote a sense of unity and shared purpose.
- Develop and lead a team that possesses diverse knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities; leverage team member's strengths to develop and implement innovative programs, services, systems, and tools.
- Support Growth: Invest in staff development through coaching, training, and mentorship. Help team members grow professionally and personally, enhancing their skills and confidence.

- Positive Representation: represent the organization enthusiastically in community forums and partnerships focused on child and youth development.
- Promote Programs: increase awareness of our programs through outreach and public relations, highlighting their positive impact.
- Act as a role model to team by practicing and integrating equity, diversity, and inclusion principles in one's role, responsibilities, and relationships.
- Foster a psychologically safe work environment and relationships that demonstrate active caring for the health, safety, and general wellbeing of team members.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Bachelor's degree in child studies or child development, education, social work, or a related field.
- Brain Story Certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, preferably in the field of child and youth development.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervision of team, program planning, and resource management.
- Strong knowledge of child and youth development theories, best practices, and evidence-based interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including community partners, funders, and government agencies.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a passion for advocating for marginalized and underserved populations.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong computer literacy including MS Office Suite, able to learn additional software quickly and effectively.
- Current CPR/ First Aid Certification
